Pacing for Long COVID, ME/CFS & POTS
Stay in your own pace.

mypacing helps you understand your exertion and prevent crashes (PEM). In plain language, it shows how much of your day was spent above your personal exertion limit — and helps you spot the patterns that come before a crash. A tool for self-observation, not a diagnosis.

A private project · always free · guidance only, not a diagnosis.

Why mypacing

One day too much — and you pay for it for days.

People with Long COVID, ME/CFS, POTS and post-vaccination syndrome know the push-crash cycle. Almost every app pushes you to do more — for these conditions that is exactly wrong. mypacing does the opposite: it helps you stay below your exertion limit, shorten the longest block above it, and notice when too much is building up. It predicts nothing and diagnoses nothing — it shows you your own patterns.

Pacing means deliberately building in rest before your body forces it.

How it works

An overview in three steps

01

Add data or how you feel

Upload your watch export (Garmin, Apple Health, Fitbit, Oura and more) — or simply log how you feel each day. It works entirely without a wearable too. Your raw file is processed in your browser and never leaves your device.

02

Your patterns in plain words

How much of your day was above your limit? For how long at a stretch? How do resting heart rate and HRV respond? A one-tap symptom diary gradually learns your personal early-warning pattern — one clear, calm statement per day.

03

Pace ahead

A calm heads-up when exertion builds up over several days (no alarm, no prediction) — plus a stand test for the POTS side of things, and a doctor's report that only you create.

Your calendar, without the pressure

One tap is enough: how did you feel today? Over time this builds your personal pattern — colour-coded, at a glance, with no pressure for daily perfection. Forgotten days can be added at any time.

The knowledge behind it

Built on current research

mypacing invents no numbers — it builds on recognised recommendations and stays honest about what data can (not yet) do.

Heart-rate pacing

In ME/CFS and Long COVID the exertion threshold is low — too much time above it triggers delayed worsening (PEM). Rule of thumb: resting heart rate + 15, ideally no more than two minutes above it. Graded exercise programmes (GET) are explicitly not recommended by clinical guidelines.

Build-up, not prediction

Reliably predicting a crash the day before isn't something the data supports — we say that honestly. What is measurable is the build-up pattern: resting heart rate and HRV respond with a delay (PEM, 24–72 h). Your own symptom diary gradually turns this into a personal early-warning pattern.

POTS & stand test

Orthostatic intolerance (POTS) frequently accompanies these conditions. It can't be read from all-day data alone — which is why there's a guided stand-test module (NASA lean test): 10 minutes, pulse per minute, as a shareable finding for your doctor's visit.

Pacing calculator

Quick orientation without an account: how much activity can your body handle? The free pacing calculator factors in your symptom precursors, resting heart rate and crash delay — and gives you a recommendation for your daily exertion limit.

Pausing before it tips over

Early crash warning doesn't mean predicting what will happen. It means taking a break in time when exertion builds up — before your body makes the decision for you.

Devices

Many sources — or none at all

If you have a wearable, mypacing brings together the formats from various manufacturers. If you don't, how you feel plus the stand test are enough. Both are voluntary.

Apple Health and Health Connect also bundle Samsung, Huawei, Amazfit and more — one export, many devices. Direct account linking for Fitbit, Oura, Withings, Polar, Whoop, Suunto and COROS is in preparation.

Runs quietly in the background

Once connected, mypacing automatically syncs new values from Health Connect or Apple Health — you don't need to upload anything manually anymore. Your raw data stays on your device throughout.

Privacy

Your health data belongs to you

Specially protected

Health data is especially sensitive under GDPR (Art. 9). mypacing processes it only with your explicit, voluntary consent — encrypted, pseudonymous and for a defined purpose. Cross-user analyses are only anonymous and aggregated.

Deletable any time

You decide what gets stored, and can delete everything again with one click. Raw files aren't retained after analysis.

Private & free

mypacing is a private passion project, free forever, funded at most by voluntary donations. Your health data is never sold, never used for advertising, and never shared with insurers, employers or authorities.

You share when you choose

The doctor's report is only created when you generate it. Nothing is passed on to third parties automatically.
