Recovery after training in your history.

After hard training days, resting heart rate, HRV and sleep compared with your usual range show what the following days look like. Sports watches calculate their own recovery values from this. mypacing describes the values and gives no training advice.

Training is effort, and recovery is part of it

A hard run or a long strength session is effort. The hours and days afterwards are part of recovery. How long it takes differs from person to person.

In the mypacing day plan you enter training sessions as plans with energy points. They then sit next to work, errands and family, and you see the whole week at a glance.

Manufacturers’ recovery values are estimates

After a recorded activity, Garmin shows a recovery time between 0 hours and 4 days. It estimates how long it may take until another session of similar intensity is possible. According to Garmin, the calculation includes training effect, stress level, sleep quality and daily activity level, among other factors.

For training load, Apple Watch compares the intensity and duration of your workouts over the last 7 days with those of the last 28 days. It rates the result on a scale that runs from well below to well above that level. Both are manufacturers’ calculation models and cannot be compared directly.

Resting heart rate, HRV and sleep show the days after

In mypacing, resting heart rate, HRV and sleep after hard days sit next to your usual range over the last four weeks. If a value is above or below it, the app describes this in one sentence, with no colour code and no judgement. Over time you see what your week typically looks like after a hard training day.

Single outliers are part of the picture. A pattern that repeats over several training weeks says more.

Your own impression adds to the measurements

Watches measure pulse and movement. They do not measure how recovered you feel. In the check-in you note your wellbeing and how your sleep felt. With tags such as “intervals” or “race” you mark special days and later filter by them yourself under Entries.

mypacing is not a training planner. The app does not suggest sessions and does not tell you when to train again. That is your decision.
